Frequently Asked Questions

Steel or aluminum bumper — which is better?

Steel is stronger, heavier, and more affordable. Aluminum is lighter and won't rust but costs more and isn't as strong in a hard impact. For serious off-road use, we recommend steel. For a lighter daily driver that still wants protection, aluminum can work.

How much does a bumper install cost?

Front bumper installation typically runs $200-$500 for labor, depending on the bumper and vehicle. The bumper itself ranges from $400 for a basic bull bar to $2,000+ for a full steel bumper with winch mount. We'll quote the complete job upfront.

Will a steel bumper affect my gas mileage?

A steel bumper adds 60-150 lbs depending on the design. Most owners see a negligible impact — maybe 0.5-1 MPG at most. The trade-off in protection and capability is well worth it for most truck and Jeep owners.

Do you custom-fabricate bumpers?

Yes. Our shop has welding and fabrication capabilities for custom bumper work, mounting brackets, and one-off projects. If you have a vision that off-the-shelf parts can't handle, let's talk about a custom build.

What are rock sliders?

Rock sliders mount along the rocker panels (the area below your doors) to protect your vehicle's body from rocks, stumps, and trail obstacles. They take the hits so your body panels don't. They also double as a step for taller vehicles. Essential for any serious off-road Jeep or truck.
