About This Build

Krypto came to MudRock4x4 as a solid JK Wrangler that needed some serious attention across multiple areas. The owner, Terry, had a clear vision — fix the ride quality, upgrade the look, and get the Jeep dialed in for the long haul. What started as a shock swap and steering fix turned into a full multi-phase transformation.

Phase 1: Shocks, Steering & Lighting

We kicked things off by swapping all four shocks over to Bilsteins for a much-improved ride. The front track bar and drag link were both worn out, so we replaced those and got the steering wheel straightened back up. From there, we installed a new aggressive grill and swapped the headlights and fog lights over to LED units with green halos — giving Krypto that signature look. A full switch panel was mounted in the cab and wired under the hood to control everything.

Phase 2: Suspension, Brakes, Exhaust & Exterior

The second round went deep. We did a full front suspension disassembly — new Teraflex HD ball joints, new hub assemblies, coil springs, and a complete brake upgrade with new rotors, pads, caliper brackets, and brake lines front and rear. The stock cat-back exhaust had to be cut out and replaced with a Magnaflow system. We installed XRC fender flares, rock lights on the inner fenders, aluminum hood latches, aluminum door handles, and a new front drive shaft. After bleeding the brakes and a thorough break-in, Krypto rolled out looking and driving like a completely different Jeep.
